MacPherson’s Launches Art Dog Live, a Series of Virtual Discussions

On Wednesday May 13th, MacPherson’s hosted the first installment of Art Dog Live, an ongoing series of virtual discussions created to support our community in staying connected and informed. Art Dog Live features voices from our industry, including retailers, vendors and others connected to the creativity community. These discussions are a chance to tune into what is going on in our industry in real time, connect with one another, speak from the heart and share creative, innovative solutions.

Watch The Video: Curbside Stories

MacPherson’s Art Dog Writer Catherine Monahon hosted our first chat last week: Curbside Stories. Our discussion featured three panelists from our retail community: owners Carson Monetti of St. Louis Art Supply, Jessica Dumitru of Art Creations and Kristen Sciascia of CC Lowell.

We discussed strategies for coping with the immense amount of change and uncertainty brought on by the pandemic, and how retailers everywhere are going the extra mile to support their customers and local community. Topics included the state of their store, tough decisions around reopening, relationships with customers, staffing, online ordering, curbside pickup and items in high demand.

Attend Live, Get Connected

If any of you attended any of our Art Dog Live panels at last year’s Dealer Workshop, the format of these conversations is similar to that format, but on our screens instead of a hotel ballroom in Las Vegas. Look for invitation to our next webinar later this week, Trend Forecasting for Getting Back to Business happening Wednesday May 27th at 6 pm ET/3pm PT.

The conversation is in Webinar format, so only panelists are seen: you can watch in your PJ’s! Register for Art Dog Live beforehand and attend live to:

  • Ask questions and get them answered in real time
  • Get a feel for Zoom and get inspired to host virtual gatherings for your store or team

Thank You

Special thanks to IT Director Jeff Scholz for orchestrating dress rehearsal and ensuring that everything went smoothly, to composer and musician Jim Semitekol for the intro music and to our panelists, who made time to share their experiences with our industry community. Thank you for your insight, input and energy. Your contributions allow us to support one another better and not only survive, but evolve and thrive.
