Art Dogs of the Month: Happy Howl-loween!

Happy Howl-oween! This month will be featuring pups who celebrate the 31st. Spoiler alert: their style is more cute than creepy.

Introducing Oliver (or Yappy the Yorkshire), the real life beanie baby! Oliver’s human, Heather Blaikie, is the Director of Merchandising & Product here at MacPherson’s. Originally a stray, Oliver is about 15 years old. “He is a Yorkshire Terrier who is larger than life, hilarious, ridiculous and very bossy,” Heather says.

Can you tell Product Development Manager Meredith Richardson-Kelley’s favorite movie is The Wizard of Oz? Dorothy, Glinda the Good Witch and the Tin Man should make that apparent, complete with the remnants of the Wicked Witch of the East. When they aren’t traipsing around the yellow brick road, this trio identify as Hattie, Zoey and Ozzy.

Hattie, is a “mama’s girl,” according to Meredith. “She loves to cuddle, loves to give kisses. She is super competitive, fun loving and just a bundle of joy! Everyone should have a Westie. I know I could have 99 more of her!” Ozzy, the rat terrier, is smart and a bit of a loner. He does, however, like to please! Then there is Zoey, the Australian Shepherd. “She is the Mom of the bunch,” Meredith points out, “always taking care of the other dogs. She is instinctively a “herder” and loves to play ball!”
